PURPOSE

Research, analyze, track, and recommend design trends in the Multifamily and Hospitality industries, macro and micro, local, national and international, with a focus on market and consumer study, differentiation, and design longevity.  Support CID’s research-based design philosophy with the creation, publication, and distribution of CID’s Forecast, integration with project work, and assist to position CID as an industry thought leader.  

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Research and identify design trends in the multi-family and hospitality design industry + any sectors as required.
  2. Manage forecasting publication and distribution internally and externally.
  3. Create and maintain a database of resources related to the Design Forecast to include Design Forecast Pinterest boards.
  4. Produce forecast related content for blog, social media outlets, and other online communications and inform marketing for postings as they pertain to our forecast.

  1. Serve as internal expert on consumer insights, values, and motivations with a focus on human-centric design.
  2. Attend team internal meetings and engage forecast principles holistically into projects.
  3. Report relevant design research to project teams.
  4. Retrospective assessment of past projects, sunsetting trends, and provide a report of successes and develop solutions for potential improvements.
  5. Engage in travel to up-and-coming markets to tour and research the latest and greatest product and present findings to the team.
 
EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE REQUIRED      
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Interior Design or related field
  2. 6+ years of experience in a marketing research, trend or forecasting position.
  3. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Publisher, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Illustrator, InDesign a plus.

  • Exemplary visualization, marketing, research, and presentation skills
  • Exceptional creative writing and verbal communications skills
